PhysX Debacle

Hello guys, I recently bought a GTX 560 Ti to begin my upgrade to my PC. I currently have a GTS 450 SLI set up too. My questions is that will it be more beneficial to use a set of GTS 450's in SLI plus the GTX 560 Ti as the physX processor or the GTX 560 Ti and a single GTS 450 as the PhysX processor? Is it possible to use the GTX 560 Ti as the main GPU and the SLI GTS 450's for PhysX by switching the cards around on the PCI-E slots? Which of these set ups are the best in terms of best overall FPS along with PhysX features? This will be a temp. set up until I could get a second GTX 560 Ti to SLI them and use a single GTS 450 for PhyX, I'd appreciate any help.

Win 7 Ultimate x64
Mobo: MSI X-58 Pro-E
CPU: i7-920 w/ Corsair H70 kit
RAM: 12 gigs Corsair XMS3 Tri-channel
GPU: Need help currently
Case: Cougar Evolution
PSU: Corsair HX1000W
HDD: RapterX's in Reid 0


Note: Overclocking is not a concern for me, I'm new to mixing cards as I have always used dual SLI set ups since the 7900 GTX days.

It's a debacle because my knowledge fails to see which set up is best for PhysX, go debate elsewhere, I don't need your trash here.

Your best option would probably be to sell the 450s, buy another 560Ti.

With the cards you have, I'd run the 560Ti primary and one 450 as PhysX.

NP, I meant no offense, just thought you had inadvertently misused the word.

Two 560Tis is a nice bang for buck rig. I've two of the 2GB models for 57X10 gaming.

Nice, I really haven't seen many 2GB models locally yet, how does it perform vs the 1GB model?

Depends. If playing at a resolution/AA setting 1GB of VRAM is enough, no different than any other 560Ti SLi.

For 57X10 with AA, waaaaayyyy better.

I agree with Rollo, just stick the 560Ti as your main GPU and your 450 for PhysX until you get your second 560Ti to sli.

I ended up selling one of the 450's and keep the other for PhysX. I just got my second GTX 560Ti and wow, does it make a big difference in Battlefield 3. With my GTS dedicated to PhysX, it helps a lot in intensive firefights with pieces of stuff flying around, lol. With my current setup, I ran the game at ultra settings and managed a modest 40 FPS average with about 60 being the highest and around 20 the lowest. Note that all the cards were at their reference clocks. I will now get into the fun of OC and will post the results in a bit. This game looks amazing on a 40" Sony Bravia tv @ 1080P.
