Guys i just bought Flight Simulator X Gold Edition, Should be here in a couple of days.

Are there any mods you guys recommend(free planes\graphic mods etc)available for this title or does everybody just play it as it comes?

Well instead of being lazy i decided to scan back a couple of pages, Looking at some screenshots it seems REX v2.0 and Shade are the way to go.

For now i just bought REX v2.0 (downloading now)

That should be a good start id suggest picking an area that you'ed like fly in/about & see what's kicking about to improve it rather than downloading a ****load of stuff and throwing it in all at once,plus some stuff can break other stuff so id go one at a time and test with installs and make sure you always read the readme's !

Yes you can,if your using the set & forget option make sure you do that after installing your REX themes though

My Bad,Forgot to add that you'll need the n3202v1 from avsim to get the gauges and sounds as there aliased with the beta 3400

ATM im using Real Environment Xtreme 2 & Ground Environment Extreme(Europe pack)

Looks wicked, The only down side is as soon as i leave Europe the ground textures look really bad again! .... At some point i plan on getting the North America pack!

The GEX team are working on a Africa pack too. Should be cool.

Ok just installed Shade. Although i can see a really nice difference in the terrain .. Much better shadows & the terrain just seems to have more depth in general, One down side so far. After installing Shade ive noticed my nice white fluffy clouds seem to have done slightly darker ... As if its about to rain.

Anybody know if theirs a fix for this?

Shoe screeners ... Think you will agree. Still looks very nice though.

Hey guys, haven't been messing with FSX lately, but I noticed IRIS released some of their FSX payware as FREEEWARE! Here's the list, and these are certainly some of the best freeware you will find, considering they are/were payware! lol

Also I recently installed Shade, and while I didn't spend much time with it yet I really like what I've seen so far. I'll get some screens put up eventually, when I get some more FSX motivation. lol Maybe after the A2A P-40 Accusim gets released!
