Sure. If they have a source. They don't though. I am trustworthy too, I think the AMD baconFXtriplelayer will come out tomorrow, with 10 gigahertz proton induction shaders. Print it.

Its on track..

7870 and 7850 are due sometime ~ 6.December, true Southern Islands high-end gpus will follow..probably early January.

Nv has nothing, it will have only a lame 28nm die shrink Fermi test gpu at first..

So yea go AMD!

These chips will likely be in dismal supply and with no competition, price gouging ahoy! It will be good to see a new architecture on a new process though, even if it isn't the high end these GPU's will probably be pretty desirable, hopefully edging out the current single GPU offerings from AMD. This reminds me of the X800 Pro launching a little while before the X800XT(/PE) back in 2004.

The die shots of the 28nm chip they keep showing off and holding up looks like juniper or even turks size, so they probably are going to launch low end/mid range first. NV is rumored to be pushing back to fermi launch time, april/may, so they have a pretty good window between dec and may with no competition. The question is how far back do they push the higher end, near NV, or maybe only a month or two?

I missed out on the HD6000 series, but I may have to pick up an HD7000 card. Their 6 series already runs great, with a die shrink and some extra speed, oh man.

7600 looking like the first launch chip.

I'm good til next summer...then Ill take a look and see what AMD/NV has to offer, to me it just not worth upgrading every launch anymore.

So are these pipe cleaner parts based off existing architecture or are they all new based off GCN? My guess is the former, although it would be great to have the new architecture for all chips.

IIRC, they said they were going to release a GCN product this year, so they could be GCN based parts. Could also be that the GCN parts are the high end that got pushed back...

I'm still running a GeForce 260 GTX (192 shaders) HAHAHA. I am seriously considering a 7000 card.

I think I will. Rollo alone has convinced me to move away from NVidia. Tell that to your focus group, considering I have had ONE ATi card (Rage II) since 1998. I have used NV since TNT days. My next card will be an AMD 7000 series card.
