You can try, but I'll warn you that it may be a waste of money. We setup an nV News BC2 server before and hardly anyone played on it.

yea. people have different schedules and stuffs.... and i don't think we have even 20 people who would play BF3 MP...

EDIT: an alternative would be to schedule some "game nights" that work for a majority of players to meet up on da servers and scalp the crap out of each other.

Being a hardware forum, and BF3 being the hardware pusher for the year, if a BF3 server won't get used then no game server will.

I am sure 20 (not sure why i arbitrarily chose 20) people will get the game, but 20 will not be playing the mp consistently.

Would probably be better waiting a month or so anyways before ordering a server, get the first initial patches out of the way and allow players to familiarise themselves with the game.

Maybe a 32 player server could be sufficient and would obviously cost less, also for the sake of lag maybe an East coast server ? Defo something we could look into though....

You can change where the default Origin games folder is in Origin's settings.

And you don't necessarily have to preorder from Origin to preload it from them--I bought it from Amazon's digital download and just put the key into Origin and it let me preload it.
