i just downloaded linux 2.6 from kernel.org, and trying to compile it, i get this error message. if i append -I/usr/local/include to the compiler-flags, it aborts with "did not find '_defs.h'"

Did you apply other kernel patches or something? You b0rK3d your tree - blow it away and start over with a freshly unpacked kernel source.

got it working now...
it's been a problem with gentoo's gcc. I `installed` last weeks' snapshot and it works now... |
