I have purchased another GTX 580 to run two in SLI. The question I have is that the 580GTX has two SLI finger connector plugs per card, if running just two cards do you need just the one SLI cable connector, or are two cables connectors needed?
If you need just the one SLI connector can you plug it into either of the SLI connectors? or is it best to plug into the connector on the video card thats closed to the backplane? Thanks in advance!

Just one SLi bridge is needed, I always plug mine into the first connectors...looks the best IMO.

Oh yeah, good idea. Cool will do, I have ordered my 2nd 580 and it should arrive tomorrow. Once installed I will take some pics and upload them to the 2011 rig thread

If you have three PCIe 16x slots, you would want to put them in the first slot and the third slot and if you have a three way ,it works just fine on two cards. It will run cooler and even if the third slot just runs at 8x you will miss no speed .I did this with mine ,my first two slots runs at 16x but it puts them two close together.
