While I agree that Bulldozer is failsauce. There is a point to the tests...which is simply that when you are gaming....it has comparable performance. I'm not sure what the multithreaded performance numbers are like but I'm sure the performance delta narrows with 8 threads active.

I'd like to see MB manufacturers enable an option like: Emulate Hyper threading in the bios which may distribute the loads across BD cores more effectively.

Anyway...the future is fusion....not the Constructicons (bulldozer, piledriver, ditchwitch, landini or whatever other stupid names AMD comes up with)

In general I agree with this for one GPU gaming.

And as multi GPU gaming is still a relatively niche market, the Bulldozer likely would be a suitable gaming GPU for people playing at GPU limited settings.

Yeah that's what I was getting at. Again, I'm hoping to see something on the mobo manufacturer side to help windows with the scheduler problem. Give BD 6 months and the performance landscape may appear different than it does today.

However right now I could only recommend 1100/1090T's for those who already have an AMD system. Building new, you're daft not to get a 2500/2600K unlocked, they just offer exceptional performance.

FWIW, I have no problems with AMD's turbo under Linux. I can clearly observe that Turbo works when I load 1-3 cores on my 1100T.

In some games FX 8150 at 4.6GHz in SLi find itself slower than Phenom II X6 1090T at 4GHz.

FX 8150 at 4.6GHz struggled to outperformed 2500K at 4.8GHz in 2 way & 3 way SLi gaming, some games had SLi issues with FX 8150 due to bad microarchitecture design.

So dont get your hope up if you are waiting for Piledriver miracle, it wont happen as AMD will still lagging far behind, AMD will rely on yet more automaticalled design more than they did on Bulldozer as they going to lay off 1400 employees by 2012. Piledriver could have up to 15% improvement with 1/3 come from Turbo mode, 1/3 come from IMC and 1/3 come from IPC.

Just hope that AMD doesn't bring their fail over to ATI. They have a good streek going. Would hate to see them ruined by the company that bought then.

Yeah it confirmed that about 320 employees will be lay off at AMD Austin team who packing and shipping Bulldozer desktop & server CPUs and Fusion APUs.

They won't be. In the basic desktop segment...AMD will begin to trounce intel/nvidia soundly. For most users a Fusion product offers such overwhelming value that it's a no-brainer purchase.

4870 caliber graphics combined with a decent performing cpu....for a cheap price.

Keep in mind that most PC users are nothing like the enthusiasts that frequent nVnews. They just want to browse the web, watch flash, and play WoW...that's it.

No chance, there Graphics department is doing extremely well and long may it continue. We need competition to keep these companies honest (or as honest as they can be)
