Default Re: startx causes kernel OOPS on Fujitsu D2618-C1 mobo, debian, many kernels & driver

I had the exact same issue and disabled hyperthreading in SBIOS. This fixed the problem. My system:
Fujitsu Celisius M470-2
nVidia GTX 560 Ti

Is this something that will be fixed in future nVidia drivers and/or possibly Linux kernels?

Thanks!

Default SOLVED: startx causes kernel OOPS on Fujitsu D2618-C1 mobo, debian, many kernels

Dear sandipt and olejacob,

Yup, that seems to do the trick for me too (Celsius R670-2 / C2070). Thank you for the suggestion!

I would like to second olejacob's question/request: Can this be addressed in a future driver release? At this point, I'll take what I can get, so thanks again for your efforts.

/Chris
