Bethesda's games have never been about simply completing the main quest and then putting the game down. The main quest is sort of just an option in the much grander scheme of the world.

Edit: when I played fallout 3, I spent a week playing the game before even starting step 1 of the main quest.
I gotcha. It is like Oblibvion then. The actual story arch is about 10 hours but I played the game for 50 hours when all was done. KK sounds good to me.

Multiplayer? I'm pretty sure that's been tried already. WoW and EQ2, they call em.

Elder Scrolls are best served single player.

I've only done a few side quests, but most seem related to the main quest. They start unrelated, but end up related to making you better more powerful like getting more words etc.

Also you've always been able to do the main quest first, then the other quests. Sounds like you were mad at Oblivion for giving you to much freedom, you not knowing what to do with the freedom.

The top scores are racking up and after reading through them, it seems that they're more or less saying the small issues that seem like they could be quickly patched are small complaints in the grand scheme of things.
Nice video but where is the PC interface and high res textures they promised?

That pisses me off when people whine about a game giving them too much freedom ... wtf... you need to have your hand held like a little child...

The trees and busy polygon areas will bring it down further to maybe the 40's. Trees in the forest might do that.

unimpressed ... any other hi-red PC pics out there...

all of bethesdas games have suffered a bit form this. I played through fo3 for a week doing nothing but side quests and when I went into megaton for the first time at like level 20, the sheriff approached me and basicslly srarted back up the main quest that I had totally forgotten what it was about since literally none of the side quests had anything to do with it. Vegas didn't really give you any chance to do many side quests until the main quest was well established.

I'm kicking myself in the ass for preordering it from EB before they announced that it uses steam. I could be playing it now if I bought it on steam, now I have to wait for the delivery.

Anyone tried the new NV beta drivers for BF3/Skyrim?
