I read this on another site:

It's a texture-happy last-gen beast. It's not big on shaders (mostly post-processing and HDR lighting), it's big on textures. It'll fill 1.7 GB of VRAM without trying on "Ultra". "High" limits it to 1 GB.

The snow effects are done with animated meshes and animating textures. One small hut will have more vertices in it than the entire Imperial City of Oblivion. Texture detail is exquisite. It's the last generation taken to a dizzying extreme.
I don't know how true it is, but I have seen some 980MB graphics mem usage screens running only on high, so it could be true.

Examine the key closely... I don't have the game yet and I know it.

It was in one of the preview videos.

I'm running 4xSSAA through the CP without issue. Do you have FXAA enabled through the game by chance? Dunno if that would hurt but might be something to check.

Yeah, but I don't even have an Ultra option in the launcher. Both it and Radial Blur Quality only go to High. I don't see any setting to change these in the ini either.

Toms has a benchmark up:http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...mark,3074.html

I'm suprised, but I guess these don't include any of the .ini tweaks. Seems to scale linearly with clock speed on CPU but not with number of cores beyond 2.

Only played a couple hours, but I'm excited. Looks like a game I will be spending plenty of time in. I got scared when I opened the box to see a single dvd... and even then the game is only 6 or so gigs... yikes! Still the game looks really good.. and I am actually enjoying a game where my frame rates and load times arnt taken up to load super duper high resolution textures as if I stuck my nose to every surface I can find.

Anyways.. already am I excited to see that the first big town I come too isn't just a town plopped in the middle of no where.. but there is actually a functioning farm and outer community set up outside the gates.

Yeah, I just done that and had my first crash to desktop.

Just have to stick with the ingame stuff I guess.

Yeah, that was my first puzzle, I was really happy when I saw the puzzles were more than just throwing a switch now.
