Yeah, but I don't even have an Ultra option in the launcher. Both it and Radial Blur Quality only go to High. I don't see any setting to change these in the ini either.
If the game has FXAA option in it, that would probably be your best choice. I can't remember where I read an article but I think it was at [H]. They showed how half of the time using CP setting really didn't do anything to help IQ. It all depended upon the game whether or not it actually worked. The problem with CSAA and MSAA is some of the post processing effects won't be anti aliased since they occur after AA has been performed. FXAA on the other hand is done on the final image before it makes it to your screen. Much less performance hit and still the same IQ.

Not exactly the article I wanted to find but here is a quick summary of FXAA. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/...g_technology/1

EDIT: Found the article I was thinking of. It was at Tom's Hardware:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...deon,2868.html

Really good read IMO.

Put an hour into the game before bed and I think its great. The graphics might not be the best in the industry but it still looks great. I love the snow topped mountains and watching the wind blow through.

I put in 20 minutes this morning before work. Looked good and I like they character generation system - it's much easier to make a good looking character.

I wanna go home and play!!!! (crap, this game has already reduced me to acting like a three year old)

I will simply kill every last living NPC once I've completed all the scripted quests.

Take THAT Radiant AI!
If any of developers have played classic games like Omega, after you slaughtered couple of villages there will be ghosts which will give you missions.. (well.. in omega you could make village of undead after you killed everyone..)

Yea. I'm trying to pace myself in this game, but damn it's hard. I just want to keep playing!

What is Bethesda's problem? Why can't they make a less addicting game? I haven't been this addicted to a game since BC2 came out 2 years ago.

Game looks MUCH better with .ini tweaks to enable shadows and whatnot. Smooth as silk on my GTX 580. I've seen a few glitches so far with character animations, but other than that it feels pretty solid. No doubt Bethesda will be patching this for awhile though. As expected with any game this big.

This is half way tweaked. INI changes and 16xQ AA setting.

I think it's either transparency supersampling or ambient occlusion that the game freaks out if you try to use. I had both of those turned on and it was... interesting to see it trying to render once the game had loaded.

My biggest question right now is how stable the engine will be if I try to raise draw distances. The game is averaging 90~ish fps so I want to increase the object draw distance but that pretty much made oblivion and fallout 3/vegas crash happy.

So is this the holy grail of games like a lot of people are claiming? I never got into Oblivion so just wondering.

Yes but FXAA doesn't match the quality of MSAA. FXAA for speed, MSAA for quality. FXAA looks blurry and MSAA is nice and sharp. MSAA or supersmapling for best image quality, especially on foliage.

Much better than Oblivion in just about every way is what I'm getting so far. The three things that stand out that suck are, inventory system sucks, clearly made for joypads, mouse movement feels like it's being controlled by a joypad. FOV sucks.

Tweaks help like turning off mouse acceleration and changing FOV to something like 85, makes for a more enjoyable experience.
