Another thing is a lot of people just don't own Wiis anymore. Well, people that would play Skyward Sword anyway. I still have mine to play Wii Bowling with my friends sometimes but that's all I use it for. If I was going to buy Zelda I'd have to buy the motionplus bundle because I still have an older controller, and I can't drop the cash for that right now having spent $120 on MW3 and Skyrim just last week. I'm intrigued by the reviews but this one's going to have to wait a while.

It's sad to see so many people write off a good game just because it doesn't run in 1080p.

What did you expect on this forum... 90% of the people here wont look at a game if it doesn't require SLi to get 30fps.

I am not a graphics snob but it does look like poop. I like the cartoon style but it is silly they can't dress it up a bit. That being said, it won't stop me from playing this with my son. I'm sure it will be fun. My son is very excited for this game.

I'm excited about it, but I was excited about Twilight Princess and could barely finish the game. And when I did, I felt that the ending was a major letdown.

TP was highly reviewed as well.

I'll pick it up when I get some time (and a Motion+), but I'll try to keep my expectations in check.

ZF, what did you think of TP?

I don't think people here get the jist of Zelda. It's not about the graphics, its the story and gameplay that makes them sublime. OOT did have fantastic visuals in its era but that isn't what stood out the most from that game, the wii's limitations do show a lot with this new zelda game but that won't stop it from being such a fantastic, atmospheric fun game to play. My only negative about it is the wii controller but i read that it has been integrated fantasticaly in Skyward sword. Still not sure if im gonna get a wii just to play this though with so many games to play over this busy period. Skyrim and Batman:AC are still on my christmas list as well as Forza 4 for 360...

The gameplay has been the same since OOT and the story hasn't changed since the original.

I really enjoyed TP, but it was not as memorable as OOT. OOT absolutely floored me from the moment I turned on the N64.

TP had some good and bad things (mostly good):

Good:
-Incredible dungeon design (I actually liked this element better than OOT)
-Incredible combat (it basically expanded on OOT - I actually liked the waggle)
-Incredible boss battles (my favorite boss battle ever is the dragon in the sky temple)
-Good story
-Epona Combat rocked

Bad:
-didn't like wolf form
-didn't introduce anything "new" or "revolutionary" (not necessarily a bad thing, but I felt like I was playing OOT version 2.0 not a new Zelda)
-characters weren't as memorable as in OOT

TP was one of my favorite games. 2nd favorite ever on the Wii (my first was Mario Galaxy), and third favorite Zelda ever (first being OOT and second being ALTTP).

Skyward Sword seems to address all the "bad" and it's being rated a lot higher that TP ever was. TP didn't get any 10s from major review publications. Skyward sword is.

He has a point about calibration issues. The trick is that whenever you need to aim you point the wiimote at the center of the screen before bringing up any thing that needs aiming since it is using motion plus and not the sensor bar for aiming. No biggy. The demo wasnt very long but I did not have any issues with his sword going haywire or anything like that. It does take more force than I would like but its not enough to really cause issue. I dont know if retail will be different or not.

The thing that puts me off is something I've heard from a lot of reviews - unnecessary and boring fetch quests and padding, as well as very lengthy and uneventful traversal. I don't think I would be able to stay interested in this one. Too bad, but yeah the last non-handheld Zelda game I completed was OoT and it'll probably stay that way.
