Audio over hdmi?

Is audio over HDMI supported? I saw a post a while back that it was not on the ION boards, is this something that will be added in the future? Is it supported in the GT430/440 boards?

In FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT there are some major improvements for some days now. Alexander Motin is rewriting the HDA driver (see Major snd_hda rewrite) and now some people try to improve the HDMI capabilities (see Improving HDMI/DisplayPort audio support).
