Default BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length erro

Hello,
I've got the following message from many applications:
The error was 'BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length erro'.
(Details: serial 8432 error_code 16 request_code 152 minor_code 34)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

How to fix it?
NVidia Driver Version: 285.05.09
Kernel version: 2.6.36
OS: Debian
what the source of this error?

Please run "xdpyinfo -queryExtensions" and look for the one that has "opcode: 152". That will determine how to decode the minor_code field.

RENDER (opcode: 152, base error: 162)

Hmm, that's a little strange. There was a bug in libX11 that would cause BadLength errors, but I thought that was with the RenderSetPictureFilter request (minor_code 30) rather than RenderCreateLinearGradient (minor_code 34). Can you please attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.gz?

This is unlikely to be an NVIDIA driver bug, so you might have better luck with Debian's support community.

Plagman found the bug I was thinking of for me:

To clarify, that means you need to update your libXrender package to benefit from this fix.
