Also why would they give your NBC gaming section big bucks, are you planing to make some "blockbuster" game with physx? heh i thought so.
NBC Universal my man, lots of games come out based on movies

And AMD is doing nv's homework with its unified core, so those 24 compute processors or compute units are same sheit when it comes to compute capable apps.
Right can you give me some proof of that?

Also you can never have enough ROPs. Both pixel and texture fillrate are still too low, i saw that on a OC'ed 570gtx at low reso. At Least 50Gpixel and +70gtexel (nv fillrates) is needed for super smooth 60fps+high aa at 1080P. This includes 5year old Crysis 1.

Hmm you really should look at what is holding Crysis 1 back, its not the GPU

And? that doesnt really mean anything,. From what i've seen most movie/animation game ports use havok or bullet anyway, very few chose physx or more precisely Hardware physx. heh i wonder why xD

Now If it were like it suppose to be from the start namely Physx 3.0, then i would mind it much.. Well its still not so efficient like bullet, but hey better this than that crippled on purpose x87 code physx 2.x.x port.

Check this GCN architecture preview and you will see a big similarity, the main thing is unified simd core just like any NV gpu since G80.

Yes its gpu too (pixel fillrate is holding it back), I tested cpu benchmark (ice level) with disabled gpu intensive fx, except physics/particles and got avg 87fps.

Anyway if we must discus this further its better in AMD 7970 thread..

There are two reasons that we are concidering using PhysX for many upcoming projects, Business reasons (time to market) and dev, its not as straight forward as you seem to think it is.

Interesting but it looks like they have cut down on total number of ALU's with their new design based on the diagrams (512 ALU's total)

You do release gpu intensive fx mainly effects the ALU's not the fillrates.

That's an example using 8CU's, the rumoured 7970 currently sports 32CU's, for a total of 2048 ALU's.

Anyway, kinda OT now...

Yes, everyone should apologize to rollo, he was not baiting anyone at all, just look at his insightful first post in this thread;

Poor guy, someone give him a hug, he was only trying to help enlighten everyone.
