Yeah quests and storylines are great, I guess only thing to worry about is long term..what happens in 2-3 months?

I guess start an alt and start a new story?

But I am not going to worry about 2-3 months..if I can get 2-3 months of gameplay then that alone is worth the money

This was corrected before the head start. Actually, it was partially corrected. There is no longer any difference between medium and high settings for textures, so leaving it on high won't give you lower quality textures anymore.

how does the pricing work on this game? is it similar to wow? monthly?

Yep $15 a month, my guess is WoW and Star Wars will be the last of the MMORPG that will be monthly, everything else is going or will be F2P. I highly doubt WoW or this game will

I really want to start playing this- but it's that $15 a month that is ruining it for me and honestly what killed it for me in WoW.

My best friend and his family play League of Legends quite regularly. I've not played it but from what I gather it is free to play. You can purchase items in game however to help build up your characters with real money or money earned in game. It takes longer by earning the gear and abilities, or you can just speed through and purchase everything with real cash.

From what I understand that is a system I more support. I honestly hope Star Wars heads that direction. I can't see a monthly subscription surviving much longer imo.

to be honest i prefer the $15 a month, instead of F2P, F2P is a gimmick IMO, because if you want to do anything you got to pay for it, and by the time you are done many times ended up spending way more. I also think buying items with real cash just ruins the experience, I hated when EQ2 started doing that.

To me I look at it as $15 a month is what 1 movie with popcorn maybe? and that only lasts what 2 hours?

If I play an average of 20 hours a week that is 80 hours a month, it really is peanuts in comparison.

I played some more tonight, played more then I thought I would but that only becuase I got into a great group with some people I never met before and we hit several of these heroic quests and then just did quests together. I hit level 11, and have to say having the most fun I have had in years in an MMORPG.

It still early and things might change, but no lag, only a 10 min que to login tonight at prime time, no crashes, and once I changed the graphic settings, the game now looks a lot better.

I was in the beta and it was a lot of fun, ran really well despite no local servers, but I'm the same as you Deemed' no looking for a monthly commitment just yet. Having said that I know the costs of games like can be astronomical, both their the servers and the game content, for TOR to survive I think it'll have to follow the WoW system.

I still watch the intros from time to time, maybe in the new year I'll join up for reals. ::

Both High and Medium settings now result in the High textures. So it went from High being broken to now Medium being broken.

Shouldn't matter, the game will run great on just about any system, so I don't imagine anyone needing Medium textures.

Yep. I'm officially a ToR fanboy. I haven't felt this excited playing an MMO since SWG was released.

Hmm this what I have added in my ini file:

AntiAliasingLevel = 4
TextureQuality = 0
DynamicLightsLimit = 2

and now game looks superb, much better then yesterday, and it runs great, I saw no lag at all.

I am not sure TextureQuality = 0 means medium or high? LOL
