Hi everyone!
I need to start my old computer with Linux, but I've got a big problem with graphic card (TNT2 Model 64 32 MB PCI Card). I downloaded the nvidia drivers 4496 and 5328 but in both cases effect is the same... Always black screen, when I try to start X ! Of course, "nv drivers" worked correctly, instalation went ok, installer compiled a kernel (I suppose... sorry I am quite a newbie in Linux) and I edited config file. I tried many different ways and hints, which I found in README and this forum, but it's all for nothing... ![]() As I mentioned computer is old: Celeron 300 Mhz Covington, 128 Mb Ram. Red Hat Linux 9, Kernel: 2.4.20-20.9, XFree86 4.3.0-2. Any ideas, what can I do? Maybe I should download oldest version of drivers? I beg for help... -- MaRTiNuS |
