Hi,
I originally reported this into Adobe bugbase, but given the lack of progress I have decided to give it a shot here. Basically, when vdpau is enabled for Flash Player (by setting EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1 in /etc/adobe/mms.cfg), whenever the progress bar of the youtube player is clicked, the video would stop refreshing while the sound would keep playing. I did this particular test with Flash Player 11.1.102.55 and nvidia 290.10 driver on Fedora 16 x86_64. Required files are attached, please let me know if more is needed. Video tested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxLu2kafAIY |

Have you tried the latest 11.2 beta?
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l..._122011.tar.gz I can't reproduce the issue on my system, but I don't have the exact same configuration right now. |

I did, and it does not help.
I have also tested 295.09 but it does not help either. ETA: For some reason I have not figured out yet, 11.2.202.160 aka 11.2 beta 3 is working correctly now. I'll keep an eye on the problem, otherwise sorry for the noise, I guess. Last edited by Belegdol; 12-28-11 at 03:14 AM. Reason: Proper test of 11.2 beta 3 |

I had the exact same issue and it's no longer present so must've been solved by a driver update.
Hardware acceleration in Flash still causes complete lockups of X and is generally a complete mess though. |

My investigation points towards Flash Player. With 290.10 Flash 11.1 stops refreshing but 11.2 does not. The problem is that it crashes every 3-4 seeks on average, so it it is still far from being useful. Hopefully Adobe/Nvidia manage to fix it eventually.

I had the same problem with seeking in flash video as above, but upgrading to the 11.2 beta did solve that problem.
It also turned all of the people in the Hobbit HD trailer (and other youtube videos) blue, like smurfs. And the NBA TV client repeatedly pauses and unpauses the video. It did enable hardware video decoding, which I wasn't able to do before though. I tried to disable the "use hardware acceleration" setting from the Settings... dialog, but so far when I try to pull up that dialog box, the flash instance freezes and I can't do anything (change setting, dismiss box, etc.) |
