There are countless devs on Doom9/Doom10/Avs/etc who would be surprised to hear that VDPAU decoding for Hi10P is a software-solvable issue.
I was under the impression that only NVS/Quadro cards could do it, if at all. |

Code:
VDec: vo config request - 1280 x 720 (preferred colorspace: Planar 420P 10-bit little-endian) Trying filter chain: vo Could not find matching colorspace - retrying with -vf scale... Opening video filter: [scale] SwScale params: -1 x -1 (-1=no scaling) Trying filter chain: scale vo The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec. Try appending the scale filter to your filter list, e.g. -vf spp, scale instead of -vf spp. MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: check_framedrop For convenience, I have also reuploaded one of those to your ftp "10bit-eldorado.mkv", I hope that was ok. |

Maybe Nvidia knows something that we don't, but if VAAPI, CrystalHD, and XvBA can't do Hi10P on the GPU, I don't see VDPAU being special despite being a much larger API.

I think you took my post the wrong way; I said I didn't think our decode hardware supported 10bpc either...
