I'd pay the extra for the Intel drive just for the added reliability. That's what I'm doing anyway, getting the Intel 320 120GB, and some day when I upgrade my MDB I'll get a SATA III drive at that point and then put the 320 in one of my other SATA II systems.

Although im fully aware that this is the logical thing to do the fact that i have a SATA III SSD in my system only running at half of its potential speed will eat away at the back of my mine lol.
And you lot have kind of talked me out of using a controller card now. ![]()

I just ran ATTO on both my 80GB Master HDD and then my 500GB Storage HDD drives.
Master Model no:- (Western Digital Caviar 80GB) WDC WD800JD-60LSA5 ![]() Storage Model no:- (Seagate Barracuda 500GB) ST3500320AS ![]() Its the first time ive ever ran ATTO on this 80GB master drive! ... Turns out it not even SATA II ... 42MB/s read/write speeds! ![]() I still remember the day i got the 80GB Master drive(for free BTW)i could have sworn it had SATA II wrote on it .... I seriously cant wait to get this thing out of my system now.
