Honestly, I'm not surprised. It's in line with my CF experience with older cards.
Do you have a link? I'm wondering if the 590 is experiencing the same issues

I saw a couple links earlier today where the xfire scaling was garbage....however team green's Sli scaling was just as bad.

I have had more than one NVIDIA GPU in my computer for the last seven or so years, usually well before they launch.

I have NEVER had "Jinkies! Four of the most popular games out right now won't work right!".

The reason is TWIMTBP- NVIDIA gives devs the resources (programmers, code, hardware) to make sure games (and cards) launch with a tested driver profile.

It appears with the rush to get 7970s the customers are again the victims of ATi's reactive rather than proactive approach.

I wish I had a Rollo FUD flowchart for when AMD releases a new product, so very predictable.

You might want to look up that "FUD" term. Two professional review sites noted CF issues on very popular games on cards people are buying in stores today.

So you're angry I'm telling people about the issues? Why aren't you angry the issues exist for all the people who spent their hard earned money today and are finding they can't run their games tonight? You angry for them as well?

Our largest complaint with the HD 7970 is that the drivers don't yet appear ready for prime time. In the course of a week AMD has sent us three drivers that each fixed various issues, or improved performance in a game.

It's fine that you post about that issue. Doesn't really bother me at all since I know that's what you were aiming for.

I'll find out tomorrow for sure if the issue affects me.

Looking at past card releases and crossfire performance or even SLI performance for that matter, it really doesn't surprise me that a card on day one doesn't have perfect drivers. And then how do you explain all the reviews that don't have the problem? You're acting like the card is totally botched and broken and it's the end of the world. As always people will need to have a little patience with a new product.

You think I posted a thread, and all these posts in it, to try and annoy you personally?

LOL, hate to break it to you, but my motives are a little more complex. You were just a convenient example of someone who bought the cards.

Unfortunately AMD's reviewer driver did not ship with working CrossFire profiles for Batman Arkham City and Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Battlefield 3 at 2560x1600 also fell back to single GPU performance, even though lower resolutions scale just fine. While I am confident AMD that will provide working CrossFire profiles for these major titles soon, they really need to work on getting their driver support to work right at launch day, when loads of people want to play these games.
Let's see, that's three big websites (and TechPowerUp and ComputerBase have worldwide respect) claiming CF driver issues on 7970s.

These people are all professional reviewers- if they're not getting games working, what hope do average gamers have?

Doesn't look like anyone is winning with Skyrim.....****ty scaling all around.

Biggest title of the year and the 590 doesn't work with it either..

I've owned alot of cards from both companies..neither one is perfect. AMD's ceo for years was an insider trading douche and Jen likes to straight up lie about products...so who's pointing the finger.

@Rollo

G3D shows no issues with BF3 at any resolution

I call bull****....I had to wait forever for Oblivion to work correctly with the 8800GTX single...I didn't have SLi so I cannot attest to that. But when Single GPU doesn't work right...what hope does mGpu have?

To be fair Skyrim's CPU scaling is pretty terrible so it doesn't surprise me another card doesn't help out much. Crossfire does scale somewhat on other AMD cards though.
