If that pans out is another story though.

Oh I know. Newegg has 'em for over $1k last I looked. However I did say that is what I wanted. I'm quite a ways off from buying anything right now so I'm hoping prices will drop. However, if they don't I can settle for anything over 300GB, as my steam folder alone is about 270GB.

100 Mbit/s here. Takes me about 10-15 minutes to install a 10GB game.

You could also back up to DVD. A 50 pack of DVD's (225GB) is about $20. Just backup the games you play the most.

Haha yea but it is a reasonable solution.

If that's too "old school", you could get a BD-burner, burn backups to ISO and burn 5 of them at a time to a 25GB BD, or 12 of them to a 50GB BD.

I still backup a lot of things to DVD. No point in wasting hard drive space on something I rarely (if ever) need.

EDIT: you can get 100 discs for $25, so about 450GB for $25. Cheapest option imo.

Well, to be fair I've two accounts one of which I've had since HL2 launched but still...

So, for the heck of it, post how large, in GBs, your steam account is.
I'll translate this for you guys. Redeemed wants to know if his penis is really as small as women say it is.

omg @ backing up into dvd's -.-!....i tried that once...went through 3 dvd's...and said..**** this lol!!..

i think buying a new hdd is easier.. (once prices go back to normal)

i label my hdd's and i copy the directory structure and put it on a excel spreadsheet i have, and each tab is a hdd so if i am searching for something i just search in there...plug the hdd via e-sata...and bam i am in..

this method..not recommended when prices for a 2tb hdd is $350+AU lol....used to be $120~
