Right now I have ~40gigs worth of Steam stuff installed. I don't really see the point in having every game on my Steam account downloaded and ready to play at all times.

Wow, some of you guys have large collections. All my Steam games take up about 70 gigs, but at least they are on a SSD.

i label my hdd's and i copy the directory structure and put it on a excel spreadsheet i have, and each tab is a hdd so if i am searching for something i just search in there...plug the hdd via e-sata...and bam i am in..

You only have to back up to disc once. If you do it each time you buy a game, it's not hard.

However, going through an entire library ex post facto is daunting lol.

FWIW, DVD's are still cheaper per GB. Especially now.

Takes way too long to burn dvd's...i dont even use mine atm, it broke a month or two ago..i havent even bothered...

Memory stick ftw...

copying 200+gb into dvd's.....or just replace hdd -.-.

Precisely. I'm sitting at 270GB, even if I used BD that'd take forever to back up. Best to just use a seperate HDD.

@ Vin backing up to DVDs. Just the beginning of this year he finally abandoned his 3.5" floppy drive.

I have a 2tb drive USB3.0 I use for backups. I usually only have 1 to 2 games installed on my 480gb SSDs at a time. Right now I'm replaying Arkham Asylum then Arkham City. I have Saint's Row 3 and Skyrim installed waiting for their DLCs. I also have Gemini Rue and I'm downloading the FEAR series to backup and play later.
