I was using the present changer "number 2" zbuffer setting for my D3D games because I like to run vsync and triple buffer. I really truly didn't notice any difference in how smooth they ran with or without DirectX Tweaker. The only thing I did notice is the graphical errors when trying to play some of them through DirectX Tweaker. Maybe, it's because I'm using an LCD monitor instead of a CRT. Would that make any difference?

The main errors that I was getting was on Mafia. When I played this game through directx tweaker with Zbuffer 2 and vertical sync on, all of the cars in the game had a flickering light beneath them. It was driving me crazy. I tried several different drivers and they all did the same thing. Then I tried just playing the game normally without using Directx tweaker and the flickering went away and looked perfect.

ok, it is possibly due to the version of the hook dll, it has been updated since the last public copy, ....worryingly.. though i haven't heard from the dev's for awhile...

I have a 7950GX2.

I've noticed that in dual GPU mode for some games (Fear, Battlefield 2 and COD 2) there is tearing of the display even WITH vsync enabled BUT it only affects the very top of the screen, say the first couple of centimeters at the top of the screen.

I'm not sure if this is a driver problem or not.

I'll give the DXTweaker program a try and report back.

not possible

the 7950X2 is basically a single card (with 2 pcb+core's) in SLI mode.

I apologize for resurrecting this old thread, but it is the most detailed one on DXTweaker that I have been able to find. The author's site, www.nonatainment.de doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Does anyone know what the last version of DXTweaker that was available to beta testers was? Is that version available for download anywhere? Techpowerup.com has a 2005.1 version listed, but their download link isn't working. I've found posts indicating that there were 2005.2 versions too, but haven't found a working download for them yet. I'd like to use the latest version in some tweaking I'm trying to do on a couple of DX7 games.

Thanks.
