Default build questions

okay so i have an interview this friday for a second job hopefully I can get it ill be bringing home a good amount each week! um so I want to do a new build!

im thinking:

cpu-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116491&Tpk=Intel%203960 X%20Extreme%20Edition

mobo-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131803

ram-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231501

um maybe an ssd?-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820249015

um as for gpu idk what i want to do either the top 7970 or wait for nvidia to see what they have coming out?

maybe go with this one because of the cooler, it looks the one thats on my gtx 480
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125413

gotta wait till they get more

also I am probably going to buy a desk and stuff to put next to my tv stand just something to put 3 monitors on because I want to do either eyefinity or nvidia surround w.e its called. I want to stretch my games across 3 monitors, I also want 3D, do i have to have 3d monitors for this? is this something worth jumping on? or meh?
what monitors do you recommend?

thats all i can think of for now,
if i need more or whatever ill post in here,

comment,concerns questions thoughts?
i dont really know anything about ati or intel or eyefinity or w.e

I know you're drawn in by the thought of having a super-mega-uber rig nate (trust me, we all are) but I think you can replace some of those parts with cheaper ones that will perform just as well, and then reinvest the savings in other areas (e.g. 2nd gpu).

For example, the EE chip you bought doesn't offer much of an advantage over a 3930K, which is $400 cheaper. Your motherboard can be replaced with this Gigabyte board to save you a couple hundred bucks.

Then, you can pickup two 7970's for about the same cost as the parts in the OP. You'll still have insane performance and a rig everyone can drool over.

Same RAM is fine imo. 1000W should be fine as well.

I meant the RAM you listed in the OP. You will want 4 sticks for quad channel, so if you use the RAM you already have, you should at least pick up 2 more sticks.

TBH I think you're wasting some money with the build. Vin is right the extreme edition is not worth it at all.

Why not go sandybridge with a 2500k/2600k? You're getting 0 performance increase with that chip, and until consoles come out that are sporting 6 core chips I doubt you will in the time that you own the chip.

Also why the H60 instead of the 80/100 on such an intense rig?

You could cut that chip, and board, and get a damn good sandy bridge WITH a 7970 and blow your current rig outta the water, or get a second 480 for sli.

Yes that's a good option. Apparently, Ivy Bridge E (also LGA 2011) will be a monster, but that's months away. In terms of bang for your buck, can't go wrong with a 2600K. Like Maverick said, that may save you enough to buy a second 7970 now.

Good point, didn't catch that. Yea, stick with one 7970, save the extra cash for a new monitor, preferably 2560x1440 or 2560x1600.
