Pretty sure it's fake as Kepler isn't supposed to have hot clocks.

I wanna see a 3gb version of the GTX 680 or a 2.5gb version of the GTX 670 and I would happily wait until someone like Asus or Msi came out with one before I even thought about upgrading.

They need to stack, at minimum, 2.5GB on the card. 2GB just isn't enough for a card you want to keep a few years. Skyrim with mods and BF3 already push close to that. And if you game on multiple monitors you're in trouble.

Yep and I can vouch for that because with BF3 im at 1490mb's at 1920X1080 Ultra settings with 4XMSAA and Skyrim with Mods I have seen just over 1500mb's so as it is im right on the edge with those games, lol. Think I will hold out as long as I can though, I usually like the refresh cards the most anyway and ATI from what I have heard will have a refresh this summer with 8000 series cards and Kepler would likely be working on one as well so for me its going to be one of those 2 choices.

Is it me or the price for the top end stuff (single GPU)are getting ridiculous! well rumored MSRP!
US$500 is the max budget I would be prepared to part from for a vid card

Yep, im not paying more than $500.00 for a top tier video card myself. Im patient these days when it comes to hardware though and usually wait until I can get a great deal, such as my GTX 580 that I purchased for $360.00.

If kepler was indeed new architecture that was designed not to have a hot clock. If its die shrink of Fermi maybe hot clocks are still needed? I dunno man this is getting real silly at the moment in terms of rumors....

Prices for high end cards have been ridiculous for a while. My two 8800GTXs on launch day were 620$ each. My 4870X2s were 700$ each.

Given the size of the current Fermi GPU at 530mm2, a straight die shrink to 28nm without changing a thing on it would still make a chip that's 371mm^, basically as large as the Tahiti GPU on the HD7970 GPU's as it is, so you can imagine what adding twice as many shaders as listed on those charts, 64 Rop's and even more texture units, would do to the size of the GPU itself...Yup, it would be huge and hardly able to hit high clocks period. As for the double clocked shaders, it's hard to say to be honest, and they might ditch them because even if adding more of them, they're still not able to hit the intended performance targets, or a fab process limitation of the 28nm process that won't allow to hit intended clock speeds if they're still double clocked, or simply needing to beef up the shaders to deliver more performance but having to sacrifice their double clocked nature in the process, perhaps to also make the overall architecture more power efficient....The reasons could be many. |

It's 6 games vs none from the other companies. That's still a win in my books. Quote:
Also, PhysX doesn't need to become a standard, it's just a middleware. That would be like asking developers to only use Unreal engine. |

Eh I highly doubt that's accurate, but if it is I'm damn glad I waited for kepler lol.
