Default XBOX update fixes black (or lack of) problem

The update is out today to fix the grey issue. According to Major Nelson's blog the video apps (like Netflix) will have to be updated and it should be rolling out over the coming months.

I hope these apps don't take forever to update to fix this problem. They were trying to market the 360 more towards some video watching so this is a pretty damn big bug when the video looks crappy.

I have seen some people saying the 1080 looks like it is being downscaled to 720 or something and it does seem to be doing that to me too. I tried watching some video I shot with our Canon HD video camera. The video is in 1080 but my 720P phone video actually looks better playing it on the XBOX.

I have the same 1080p downscale issue. When I bring the menu using silver X button, the font is not HD at all and look pixelated. Hope this gets fixed too.
