Post LG Has Officially Announced the New Optimus 3D Max Smartphone

LG Electronics has officially unveiled the successor of their glasses-free 3D-capable LG Optimus 3D P920 smartphone (AT&T Thrill 4G in the US) and the new device will be called LG Optimus 3D Max (Optimus 3D Cube in Korea). The new device should make its first appearance in the upcoming MWC 2012. The Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona will start in just few days, on 27th February and will continue until 1st of MArch, so it is just around the corner. The new LG Optimus 3D Max will come slimmer and lighter and with a faster 1.2GHz dual-core processor, it should also support NFC (Near Field Communication) with LG Tag+, come with HSPA+ 21Mbps support, enhanced 2D to 3D Converter software, brighter 3D display‚?¶
Key Optimus 3D Max Specifications:
- Chipset: 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor (OMAP4430)
- Display: 4.3-inch 3D WVGA Display with Gorilla Glass 2
- Memory: 8GB Internal Storage, 1GB Internal Memory
- Camera: 5MP Dual-lens
- OS: Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- Battery: 1,520 mAh
- Others: HSPA+ 21Mbps, HDMI connection 2D/3D TV/monitor up to 1080p via MHL, DNLA for wireless connection with TV/PC (3D video also supported), NFC Full Support, LG Tag+

It is not yet very clear if the new Optimus 3D Max smartphone will come with higher resolution display, if the autostereoscopic 3D screen will offer more viewing positions, will there be any higher quality camera sensors, if the camera will be able to utilize the full 5 Megapixel resolution of the sensors in 3D mode or support more than 720p Side by Side 3D recording with half horizontal resolution. Hopefully these things will be addressed, so that the new 3D-capable smartphone from LG will indeed offer much improved new device in terms of 3D capabilities. The use of faster and more capable hardware should allow for improvement in the 3D capabilities of the device, but only if LG has indeed placed the focus on improving the 3D features that the new Optimus 3D Max offers. The Optimus 3D Max will first launch in Korea in March and will gradually roll out in other markets starting in Europe. The smartphone should be launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but it should shortly after that get an upgrade to the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
