At least be some-what original or do something actually new.

Pass...
Dead Space didn't, they just improved the original formula and the sequel wound up being better than the first, imo.

They had so much material to work with in the first Far Cry I think a return to the roots (that trailer reminded me so much of the first stranded tanker incursion) might make a great game.

I'm open on this one, even though I didn't care for the second.

I liked the enemies making smalltalk with each other in Far Cry just before you kill them, I hope they put LOTS of voice tracks in this one ,hearing the same chat over and over is a real drag (man) ,also hearing the same death noises over and over is so lame.

I'd like a game where I never hear the same thing ever from separate characters.

DO IT!!!!

It cant be that hard to make every face different also.

it was up to them to create a spawning mechanic that was not pure sh*t.

I'll be waiting until I hear lots of hands on reviews before I even think about purchasing this one. FC2 was just too terrible of a game for me to have any pre-release interest.

It wasn't the respawning itself, it was the fact that you could drive 300yrds up the road and turn around, that took you all of 2 min, and the checkpoint you just blew up was already respawned. SHould have at least gave it a 10 min time limit. Other than that though I loved FC2.

Looks like a lot of fun. Looks like an updated FC1. My fear is that there will be a lot of invisible walls preventing you from actually exploring the island but after FC 1 and 2 being open ended, I can't imagine this one NOT being that way too.

Edit: "If you can see it, you can get to it"

The AK sounded abnormally weak though in that 5 minute gameplay video

the shadows look pretty blocky too

I'll be waiting also. Mainly due to so many other games needing to be played but also becuase I've been burned a few times in the last year on preorders and day 1 purchases (skyrim being a notable exception) that I now will wait and see.

Far Cry 2 might have been ok to some (you obviously) but it wasn't even close to the first one in gameplay. It really should have been a new title because it was basically brand new IP that shared nothing but the name and the engine with the first (2nd generation engine).

I'm excited for Far Cry 3... it looks like a real sequel to the first one finally... Or a sequel to Crysis, depending on how you look at it.

Far Cry -> Crysis -> Crysis 2 -> Far Cry 3

////// IN IT'S OWN REALM
Far Cry 2

I never understood why Farcry 1 is so highly touted. I found it to be a pretty generic shooter, It was a pretty and had a nice open layout (but not open world) but as a game it was a generic shooter that got really ****ty once the mutants were added into the mix.

I think that's the game I bought my 6800GT for. Great card but the game made it cry.

I would like a repeat of that release with this one.

Awesome game that got even more awesome once the mutants were added. Imagine a remake of this masterpiece with the latest cryengine
