Default Problems with NVIDIA driver 1.0-4363 on Mandrake Linux 9.1

Hi, I just installed Mandrake Linux 9.1 but can't get the Nvidia driver to work. The .run files exits successfully, and I have edited my XF86Config-4 file as the readme tells me to. But when i try to start X i get this error:

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module!
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***

XFree86.0.log is attached, and my XF86Config-4 is posted below.

The machines hardware specs:
  • Kudoz 7x motherboard with VIA Apollo KT400 Chipset
  • Asus 8200 Geforce 3 graphics card
  • Athlon XP 1800+ CPU

I really hope someone is able to help, thanks in advance.

XF86Config-4:
Code:

Just wanted to say that I still have this problem with Mandrake 9.2 and the newest NVIDIA drivers (1.0-5328).

Verify that your module is loaded before starting X.

by doing "lsmod" you should see "nvidia"

if not,

insmod nvidia

startx

report feeback

I tried that, lsmod nivdia returns success and it shows up in the lmsod listing, but I still get the same error.
