Hi,
my old DVB-S receiver is dying and I wanted to buy a new one but they're gaga in regard of pricing. So I decided to build my own one. That's not cheaper but I guess is fun and I know what's inside ![]() I've basically made my decision to use the above mainboard but *one* big question remains: Zotac offers the IONITX in 2 varieties: one with active cooling and one with passive cooling. So, both systems being more or less the same hardware, I am wondering how the passive one fares (had some less than joyful experience with overheating Zotac hardware in the past). So, if you use this mainboard and could give some first hand experience that would be great! TIA

Follow-up to my own post with additional questions.
From the information from Zotac's website I thought the IONITX uses standard DDR3 sticks. For power calculations I've looked up the D525 on ark. Intel states there DDR3 SODIMM only, or DDR2. Now I'm puzzled! If anyone with this board could clarify this point I would be thankful (tried to call Zotac on the phone but you guess it: all lines busy ).

Another follow-up.
I've got the board this morning. For the information of all others interested in this board: it needs DDR3-800 SODIMMs.
