Schiller announced that the new iPad will be available for 4G LTE networks, including Verizon and AT&T in the U.S. The LTE, which will can handle a capacity of 72Mbps, will also be able to act as a hotspot and roam onto 3G networks worldwide.

Four more new features:
Retina display — “Until you see it you can’t understand how amazing it is,” said Schiller. “It’s a huge step forward.” Working at 2047 x 1536 pixels, Schiller said the display was better than most home HDTVs. “It’s a graphics powerhouse.”

iSight camera — Schiller introduced the 5-megapixel camera that takes its technology from the iPhone 4S. It will feature auto-exposure, auto-focus, auto-face detection, great edge-to-edge detail, AF-lock. “It is just a blast to use,” he said.

HD video recording — In addition to 1080p resolution, it will feature image stabilization.

Voice dictation — Users can tap a new key on the bottom, speak into ther iPad, and it willl dictate. Now in English, French, German, and Japanese. (iPhone’s Siri just launched in Japan today, as well,)

*1.5 pounds.
*Black and White starts at $499 (16GB), $599 (32GB), and $699 (64GB), $829 with 4G

It better... current consoles are almost 6 years old now. Technology keeps moving you know?

I'm telling the wife that we'll skip this ipad and she can keep her ipad2 and wait for ipad4. One new Apple device a year is enough.

I am not anywhere where I can download the update via wifi so I can't check but is it available for anyone else for download right now?

My wife will be happy about the movie volume on her ipad2. She complained it was too quiet. I even had to buy her that Logitech clip on speaker for it.

Nevermind my iphone is saying the update is available now, just have to be on a wifi connection to get it.

Still 16/32/64 sizes? I would have guessed they would increase all of them by now. Memory's cheap.

Nice display and 4G. Don't care much for the other improvements (I'm indifferent) . Although I'd love to see GTA3 on the new iPad lol.

So any bump in clock speed? Or are we seeing the same cpu performance as the iPad 2?

They didn't cover anything about specs of the CPU other then its "faster" and the GPU now is quadcore rather then dualcore.

I would like to see how it stands up against tegra 3 and S4 Pro (S4 Pro really since it stomps everything so far).
