I am using a GTX 580 and Windows 8. If I install these drivers with modified .inf, will I get Adaptive Vsync working correctly? FXAA also?

FXAA should work as the 580 supports it. As for the Adaptive Vsync, I know Nvidia said that earlier cards would be supported at some stage, but i don't know if these drivers will work with your card. It wouldn't hurt to try.

You still get input lag when it falls to 60fps because it halves your frames. I should know...I have a 120hz monitor. With Adaptive Vsyn on, I can crank the settings higher without the lag, and every once in a while there's a screen tear. I guess they need to work out the kinks.

Nothing is perfect

Adaptive Vsync does work and it works quite well in most situations.

Just played RAGE with Adaptive VSYNC. Wow...I had the mouse speed set high to compensate the lag. Toned it down by 2/3 and it's much better now. It's like a different game.
