I am not sure, I am leaning toward the AMD 7850 right now. I would have to see benchmarks. I only have a 260 GTX, currently.

The tables have sure turned. I can't see how AMD can make a 7990 that outperforms a 690 when they need 6GB of RAM on the thing. Maybe they will break the power envelope and make a return to the X2 days by keeping clocks at the same as the single GPU part, with the overclocking headroom the 7970 has it's possible I guess. The 690 will still likely be the better performer. Not that I'm interested in either, dual GPU cards aren't my thing, especially at the probable prices these two will fetch!

Muppet's correct. Dual GPU cards are susceptible to the same problems SLI/Crossfire setups are. That's actually how the machine sees them.
