SSD Bliss

I've got a 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 for Win7 with 2 1TB drives for games and data and I love it. Going from HDD to SSD is a huge bump.

I've got a Mac Book Pro (pain in the ****ing ass P.O.S. Crapple) at work that has a 120GB SATAIII SSD (not sure of the brand) and it's of course screaming fast as well.

Myself and 3 friends started our own business and it's starting to take off, just signed up a HUGE client. So, why not set myself up with a nice machine to work with... Sandy i5 @ 4.4Ghz, 16GB of memory, 120GB OCZ Vertex 3, EVGA 560 (this isn't for gaming), and 2 Dell U2711 monitors running Ubuntu 11.10. After applying some tweaks to fstab for performance and trim, it's just SICK how fast this thing is!!!

Seriously, if you've got an SSD you've just got to give Linux a try with it. I don't even know how quickly it boots up... login is waiting for me when the monitors finally fire up

Make sure you do backups regularly if the SSD is your main boot drive.

That right there is exactly why I will never touch an OCZ SSD, Intel all the way

It sucked because I was just about to do my 3 monthly backup too.

Got bitten on Tuesday too. Agility 3. Pc complained "No Boot Device found". Took it out of my wife's pc and took it to my place. Tried to flash it with newer firmware. Hung for over 2 hours before I powered down (Q9450 with 20Mbit cable Internet, Toolbox_v3.02.06 on a fully patched Windows 7 Ultimate). The scary thing is I've got 3 of them

Time to RMA this damn thing. It's just 2 months old.
Never had a problem flashing my Intels. I have 5 X25M-G2.
Never again OCZ. Will stay with either Intel or Kingston. You get what you pay for.

Yeah, it's the Sandforce controller. Basically, it sucks.

A real valuable advice. I as well strongly recommend to keep a regular backup on your SSD if it is your main boot drive. Do not say we did not advise you

I have to say the Crucial SSD I got is amazing..wish I got the bigger one now but I got 128 GB.

From power on to desktop is 7 seconds. It flies!!!! I don't mind rebooting or even powering off because it so fast
