You can do the same thing with android actually, been able to do that since around the time when android first came out in 2008, though you don't need appletv to do so, any PC will do, or even any kind of device that can run open source code. Airplay is late to the game tbh. Nice try tho ![]() What sets this standard apart, is that you won't need anything at all except just a phone and a tv.

Doesn't have to. In fact any TV with HDMI will work.

BTW on that note, I found out earlier that the Galaxy Nexus supports USB Host mode. With a standard OTG cable (easy to find for under $10) you can plug just any USB keyboard and mouse into the gnex and have full control as if it were a PC. (And of course standard bluetooth keyboard/mice work)

I have an extensive library of games on my phone and tablets for those slow days at work.

Well perhaps not iphones...but Android phones are another story.
Android devices have already been pushing higher resolution displays than most people actually run their PC at, in addition nVidia themselves claim that phone GPU's will be outpacing consoles soon: http://www.androidauthority.com/mobi...olution-77655/ If anybody would know this, I think it would be nvidia, given that they've been making GPU's for Android for a few years now. Unless you want to argue that nVidia doesn't know GPU's... (That's the sound of somebody getting trolled...)

It's not too unbelievable. Play Dead Space, Mass Effect Infiltrator and RAGE HD and they look pretty good.
I'd gladly swap my 360 and PS3 for an Android device that would connect to my TV, play the latest games and play BD quality movies. |
