Default Geforce Go 7400 Blacklisted by Ubuntu

After running compiz for years, I am now unable to run Unity 3d. Why? Ubuntu has blacklisted my graphics card!

Why? Because the latest (280.13) nVidia driver causes it to freeze upon login. Running a x86 Dell M1210 laptop here.

Check it out:

Other nvidia cards have been blacklisted as well. Any idea when we'll see a newer working driver?

Seems to be working well with 295.44, but I am getting intermittent blackouts on the screen for about 1 second in duration, maybe a couple times a day.
