Hi
I cant figure out what MB I should buy for the new ivy bridge cpu. I have though about these 2 SABERTOOTH Z77 http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...ABERTOOTH_Z77/ P8Z77-V PRO http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...55/P8Z77V_PRO/ Sabertooth cause of the Thermal Armor and Thermal Radar for auto overclocking features that may give better result. And the 5 year warrenty P8Z77-V PRO It also have auto overclocking, but it have ASUS Crystal Sound with DTS Connect and DTS UltraPC II for my home cinema, which is not that often. The machine should primary be used for gaming, and sometimes used for watching movies. Anotherthing what does asus means with Digital Power Phase Design "12+4+2 Digital Phase Power Design" Doesn it mean special PSU or ? |

I like the p8Z77-V PRO better. The extra covers over the board look like a pain and probably don't do much for cooling as none of the other stuff on the board gets hot enough for it to matter. Both boards likely OC about the same.
the 12+4+2 refers to the power distribution of the motherboard. It just means that they separated out more parts and should in theory work better. Ivy bridge isn't a high power draw so it's not as big of a deal as it might be on say Sandy Bridge E. |

I went with gigabyte UD5H, pretty much to me they were all the same, except for some had more SATA ports then others. Some used different audio and nic.
I just went with the cheapest that would get the most out of it. I am very happy so far, been rock solid stable.
