problems with loading glx

Hi!

I have some problems getting glx work with an gf4 ti 4200
I' m using the 4496 driver provided by the debian archives and the
patches from minion.de to make it work under the 2.6.0 kernel
No problems so far, the 2d driver is working, but when I uncomment
the line with "load glx"(see attachment1), XFree doesn't start, and the system crashes.
The weird thing is, I don't even get an error message on screen, or in
the log file (verbosity-level 10), just

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

I'don't understand what's happening here...

specs:
Athlon XP 2100+
1GB RAM
SIS 735 chipset

Debian 3.0
Linux Kernel 2.6.0 (custom)
XFree86 Version 4.2.1.1
NVIDIA driver 1.0.4496

Here's the log file:

(the .log extention of the Xfree config file above has no meaning at all,
I just added it to be able to upload the file)

Dump GLcore and Dri also, should be good to go then

your XF86Config looks ok for me (you could try to comment the section DRI, but i think this does NOt cause a fatal error..). there must be a problem with the installation of your drivers.

did you try to reinstall them?

and

are you sure that your are useing the nvidia opengl libary?

I just reinstalled the driver (a version, that was patched slightly differently),
and everything's working fine now!

Would you mind going into greater detail, it looks as though I am having the same problem.
