Go with the dell. I using two dell monitors right now, a p1130 and a 2007wfp. Neither is young yet both are still amazing. Plus the warranty on my 2007wfp has allowed me to replace two faulty models hassle free. (I ve been using this exact 2007wfp since jan 2008.)

I'm still quite happy with my 24" NEC, with it neither being TN or IPS panel i get best of both worlds (i think its AMVA panel). Sometimes temporary burn in can be a problem on some desktop backgrounds i have as i dont tend to use screensavers. Gaming and watching movies on the screen is awesome and colour reproduction is really good too with minimal ghosting and excellent refresh times.

I would only choose a Dell monitor over the one i have at the minute particularly the Dell U2711.
