What tablet do you prefer?

I had my sights set on an ipad 3, until I found out there is no SD card support. That's a deal breaker for me.

Anyway, I'm looking at the Asus Transformer Prime:

My daughter has the original transformer and it is a very sweet tablet.

The Toshiba Excite:

Post what you have, I'm open to ideas.

We have an ipad2 and a HP Touchpad.
I really like the interface on the Touchpad but of course there is hardly any apps.

The ipad is the clear king of the tablets and is very smooth and polished with a great app store. If you want anything else you are settling.

You obviously haven't been reading any unbiased reviews, most of which show the ipad and the prime as equal, with trade offs.

Retina display and quad graphics go to the ipad while Nvidia's tegra 3 quad cpu and storage + options go to the Prime.

I won't be using a carrier, so 3 or 4g is moot.

The ipad has it's act together compared to Android in my experience thus my comment, you can get something else over an ipad but then you'll be settling.
If no SD card is a deal breaker then you should settle for an Android device. Good luck with whatever you get.

This. iPad is still king of the tablets IMO right now, unless you like to tweak/tinker then Android would suit you better. Not sure what the "best" Android tablet is right now, haven't really seen a mass praise of any particular one recently.

Wouldn't be buying an iPad when you want expandable storage also be settling?

Like he said, both have their strengths and weaknesses. Choose what is more important to you.

Yes choose what is more important to you. If you want SD storage then settle for something other than an ipad.

Well, so far I've seen nothing from anyone to base a decision on other than fanboyish comments about "settling" with zero actual facts given. Awesome.

I've used ipads and transformers for quite some time now. The "tweaking" for the droid....what? Everything worked perfectly right out of the box. But I digress.

ipad3 - Love it.
-software, retina display, aesthetics are all top notch.
-Only negative is the lack of physical storage options and lower battery life.

Prime - Love it
- storage options, fit and finish are tight, software works perfectly out of the box, keyboard has extra battery for 18 hrs life plus another SD slot.
-Negatives, physical dimensions slightly larger, won't sync as perfectly (if at all) as an ipad with my other apple products (good with win7 though).

You didn't ask for facts, you asked people to post what they have. You also asked what people prefer. The ipad is my answer and I also gave my opinion as a bonus.

If you have experience with both then buy the one you like the best. Can't get any simpler.

When you make a blanket statement like "clear king of" and/or "settling for" on a tech forum, it will lead to questions like "why?" Can't get much simpler, right?
