Also SD support? Even when I had SD phones, I'd just buy the one card and use it the entire life of the phone. Apple do make an SD reader for the iPad, if you need it for a camera perhaps, but with 64Gb I can't see anyone needing to expand that.

It sounds like you're already in favour of the Prime though, so go grab it, if you're aren't going to be doing much more than web browsing, and basic (and I mean basic) office work then it's great. Gaming on the Tegra is nice, but a lot of games are ports from the iOS version and stutter and crash often. If you want more now, you'd have the go iOS. The multimedia and office apps are a lot further along.
Not necessarily, just looking for good user feedback from people who've actually used both for longer than a review period, thanks crainger.

And yes, both photo and video, but I've been restricting myself to 32Gb models, and was hoping for a way to get past the price premium for the next 32Gb.

I'm curious about the app comment though, because I haven't had any issues with androids apps - I do prefer apples though.

Office work - yeah, and lots of it I love the SDs for ease of moving large files to other's devices, and I'm not fond of the thought of tying an ipad to someone elses laptop to move a file, or tying up my wireless for extended periods if it isn't necessary.

Good feedback crainger - gave me a couple of things to mull over a bit.

EDIT: Avoiding Galaxy to btw

While the Android Apps were a bit cheaper, the were missing some key features, especially in Spreadsheets such as locking rows, dropbox support, or is Polaris' case terrible terrible performance and the fact it didn't support multitasking properly.

Other apps I use daily where I perfer the iOS version, Evernote, Spotify and Instapaper. I also love Downcast to sync podcasts across multiple devices (never found a decent podcast app for Android) also had problems finding a good todo app with decent syncing.
All this will change in time, but you have to ask, do I want a good tablet now or a year down the track, when you'll probably want to upgrade again anyway. ::

I can understand wanting to avoid the 64Gb prices, plus moving large files from one device to another isn't easy on iOS. We have smaller files and photos so Dropbox suits us.
Suffice to say I couldn't have asked for a better bit of feedback. If springing a few more $$ for the extra Gbs can save me daily app frustration then so be it, time to start shopping for company discounts on ipads.

Thank you kind sir.

See? You don't always have to settle.

What's funny is when he thinks I'm some Apple fanboy when I won't even use a Mac, I prefer Windows.
I just recognize that iOS is the best mobile OS out there.

If OS keeps going the way of iOS, then yes, it will be a more desirable option.

I have too much time into using Windows now, even if a Mac actually is better I'd have to break old habits. Fortunately I didn't have much time into using Android before I used iOS and discovered how much better it was.

I asked him why the ipad was "clearly king" and got some version of "ZOMG it's B3TT3R!"

You gave me what could have been a paid ad from Apple marketing without addressing why one tablet is better than the next.

crainger came in and addresses specific issues, software and concerns, and was duly thanked for it.

I flatly do not care who likes what or the equipment they prefer to run it on. I want the best tool for the job regardless of platform. If it's Apple, then great, but don't give me a load of bull for simply asking "why?" before I spend my or my companies hard earned cash.

EDIT: Regarding this:

How about you read a little before spouting off?

I've used ipads and transformers for quite some time now. The "tweaking" for the droid....what? Everything worked perfectly right out of the box. But I digress.

ipad3 - Love it.
-software, retina display, aesthetics are all top notch.
-Only negative is the lack of physical storage options and lower battery life.

Prime - Love it
- storage options, fit and finish are tight, software works perfectly out of the box, keyboard has extra battery for 18 hrs life plus another SD slot.
-Negatives, physical dimensions slightly larger, won't sync as perfectly (if at all) as an ipad with my other apple products (good with win7 though).
Yeah, that's some real "hate" right there.

Thanks for the reminder of one of the primary reasons I left the forum to begin with.

You never asked why.

You asked what people prefer and what they had, you were told that.
Now you come back and say you don't care what people have or what they like.

Decide what info you want before you make a thread next time. It will help you be less butt hurt.

Umm you might want to read a little before you spout off. He was talking about Rakeesh.
Damn, is it that time of the month where you are? Relax

I wasn't trying to offend you either Cylphid.
You're usually a pretty level headed person. Are you ok? Don't let the stress of picking a tablet get to you.
