What tablet do you prefer?

My housemate ordered one of these chinese specials.

1.6GHz Dual core A9, 1GB RAM, Quad core Mali 400 (same as SGS3), 1280x800 IPS capacitive, ICS 4.0.

Clearly the build quality and screen won't match an iPad, but it's a good deal cheaper and I personally find a 16:10 screen to be perfect for tablets (wouldn't go near 16:9 myself and 4:3 isn't great for media). Now that all these devices have Android 4.0 they actually seem quite good. I guess I'll find out when he gets it, I'm eyeing off a 7" one for books.

Apple sure made some hefty hardware upgrades between the 2 & 3, so obviously hardware does matter.

Choice also matters, regarding features, which with every port apple removes from the ipad, they've narrowed the consumers choices considerably.

Ehh not really though. It was just upping the horsepower to account for the increased screen resolution. CPU power stayed stayed the same because it's still smoother than anything else out there so it wasn't needed.

One thing I love about my iPad is Spotify + AppleTV. I can come home easily find what I want and press play. AppleTV was cheaper than the bluetooth add on for my receiver also.

Okay the Cube GT30 tablet arrived and I'm pretty impressed. Build quality looks solid, screen looks pretty good and has nice viewing angels (definitely an IPS as advertised). The only thing is a bit of clouding/light spots on dark backgrounds, but nothing too bad, I'm just used to AMOLED which has none of that. When displaying websites/media/images it looks pretty damn good, obviously not iPad3 good but you can't expect that. It's very snappy and vanilla Android 4.0 is very well polished and nice to use.

I'll have to use it a bit more, but for the price... just wow, perfect so far. I'd definitely prefer this to an iPad for $200+ less and actually better in a lot of ways so far. It ticks more boxes for me (16:10, good specs, ICS) than android tablets from the big players and it's a lot cheaper.

Cylphid flatly does not care who likes what or the equipment they prefer to run it on.
