I am trying to get the gt650M in My Hp dv6t-7000 working with optimus. One thing I noticed that I was not able to load the "nvidia-current" module. Any ideas?
Here is the syslog output: [ 3817.157736] nvidia 0000:01:00.0: power state changed by ACPI to D0 [ 3817.157747] nvidia 0000:01:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0003) [ 3817.157759] nvidia 0000:01:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16 [ 3817.157774] nvidia 0000:01:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 3817.157783] vgaarb: device changed decodes: PCI:0000:01:00.0,olddecodes=none,decodes=none wns =none[ 3817.157877] NVRM: The NVIDIA GPU 0000:01:00.0 (PCI ID: 10de:0fd1) installed [ 3817.157879] NVRM: in this system is not supported by the 295.59 NVIDIA Linux [ 3817.157881] NVRM: graphics driver release. If you're trying to load the module manually while bbswitch module is loaded, you have to power on the card first:
sudo tee /proc/acpi/bbswitch <<<ON |

When I run "optirun glxgears" by example, I have this problem :
Code:
[ 30.398673] NVRM: RmInitAdapter failed! (0x26:0xffffffff:1170) [ 30.398682] NVRM: rm_init_adapter(0) failed |

If, like balgo, you have "GPU has fallen off the bus" message earlier in dmesg, try running some CUDA application before optirun. You will need to power on the card and create device files prior to running a CUDA program:
sudo tee /proc/acpi/bbswitch <<<ON sudo mknod -m 666 /dev/nvidiactl c 195 255 sudo mknod -m 666 /dev/nvidia0 c 195 0 sudo modprobe nvidia |

Hm. Note that there still is one "fallen off the bus" message in the logs you show. What exact commands are you running after 'modprobe nvidia'? Are you sure that nothing causes a power state transition after modprobe?

My guess it's related to this:
Which in turn may or may not be related to this: No further ideas though. Let's hope someone has a clue what we can do with this. |
