Default Firefox is still slow with NV30GL, NV31GL and driver 173.14.35

Using openSUSE 12.1 and the newest nouveau driver (XOrg 1.12 I think) increases the speed of firefox presenting web sites with those cards enormously. It is nearly as fast as newer cards with the newest driver, but it lacks 3D-speed (XBMC). So I need to use the nvidia driver, but with this driver you cannot use firefox, as it is very slow. There seems to be a bug in this driver so that firefox stucks when one uses 'InitialPixmapPlacement=2'. With '1' it is too slow. I tried a lot with different agp speeds, but in vain. This bug exists for a long time. So I ask: Is there a chance, that this bug will be fixed? Thank you!
