So far no solution found. I've now switched to nouveau driver. But, when I need video editing I need real driver. The nouveau has so many limitions. Should I call Dell to replace my GPU card? I'm not sure if this is a driver or hardware problem.

Did you ever resolve your problem? We seem to be having similar problems on M6500 and M6600 systems.

We are still having this problem as well. I've tried all of the new releases of the driver but it persists.
Maybe this is unrelated but I found it peculiar that Dell provides driver version 260.19.29 even though that was a year old at the time of this system's release. Our system has a 3000M and 260.19.29 doesn't even list that as supported. It makes me wonder if Dell recognized this issue and that the newer drivers have this problem. |

Do you see this issue randomly or only with the flash player and/or video editing apps?
BTW, I tried the latest driver version 302.17 ( get it here http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-d...17-driver.html ) but I still got this problem. Try out v302.17 and see if this solves your problem. |

This bug may be related: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=178362 I experience the same problem with my 8400M GS, but when I downgraded to 290.20, the problem seems to have stopped. It never happened until I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04. Also: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...=1#post2559166

For me, the system seems fine until I launch an openGL application. I'm not using any flash or video editing applications.
Forgot to mention that I have already tried 302.17 and the problem remains. |

It appears that this is a common issue with Dell M6500 and 6600 devices. We have few other laptops from Lenovo (thinkpad with NVIDIA 4200M and other nvidia cards). Those seems to working fine. See this thread https://forum.solidworks.com/message...#262573#262573 Tomorrow, I'm gonna try to use device without connected power supply. Otherwise I'm gonna ask dell to replace my card or entire laptop. I can't work like this. I need fix.

Thanks. Also this error shows up very quickly when you I run OpenGL based app (as noticed by jds7717). So I ran celestia - a real-time 3d visual space simulation and it crashed immediately.
