Default If you compile a custom kernel, you NEED compile Nvidia-kernel-driver

I recommend you src.rpm packages.

You need rpm-build to compile them.

Also, for commodity, I recommend first compile and boot from the new kernel, then...

1. rpmbuild --rebuild NVIDIA_kernel-(number).src.rpm
2. rpmbuild --rebuild NVIDIA_GLX-(number).src.rpm

if ALL is OK, binary rpm's are in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386 (using redhat)

Install Nvidia drivers , modify XF86Config.

That's ALL
