Default Geforce GTX 660 works in sli only?

Was reading a review.. Toms'H that says.. GTX 660 "only works in dual cards configurations"..
is that correct? Do that means they only work in SLI and i need to buy two video cards to get them to work ? i only need one not interested in SLI..

No it works fine as a single card ,it just that it scales very good in SLI.
