Attached to this message is my XF86Config. I will post subsequent messages to attach my log's with verbose logging enabled.
One interesting note is that when I run startx with the nvidia driver in the configuration the screen goes blank then my "CapsLock" and "ScrollLock" begin to flash at the same time in an odd pattern. Only way to recover is a reset. I've tried the last 3 release version of the driver from the nvidia site. My System Spec's are: Video Card - MSI GeForce FX 5700 Ultra 128MB Driver Version - 1.0-5328 Distribution - RedHat Enterprise Workstation v3.0 - 2.4.21-4.EL Video Bios Revisions - Don't know..... Processor - AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Motherboard Model - Asus A7V600 Any assistance in getting this to work would be appreciated. For now I'm stuck with the "vesa" driver and really need to get my GL stuff running for a project. |

Added the following option to my XF86Config in the Section "Device"
Option "NvAGP" "0" It's probably suffering performance as a result haven't tried any heavy duty graphics since getting it to work but results from glxgears are: 13186 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2637.200 FPS 13923 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2784.600 FPS 13923 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2784.600 FPS 13924 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2784.800 FPS 13879 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2775.800 FPS 13914 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2782.800 FPS It's visibly faster than "vesa" just running X. |
