Just a bump. Suse 8.2, Geforce Ti4600: Driver loads fine, sax2 doesn't let me use 3d.

Guess I'll have to manually fix the XF86Config.

Ok . . manually restoring the config, and the driver works.

And, I get a whopping 13 FPS on glxgears? Can we say oops?

Logs are clean, XF86 Log has only one relevant warning:

(WW) NVIDIA(0): Failed to verify AGP usage

I'm attaching entire XFree86 log.

Ooops, this sounds very similar to the problem I've just posted except that I've tried 3 different versions with the same result.

Found it. Someone mentioned it above. The install file is bugged. Use this one.

(I found all that information in this thread)

bah.. glad i went over to this forum.. my first post here..
i had the SAME problem.. drivers worked.. but GL suxord badly.

i run RH9 and tried the stock shrike kernel and a custom kernel i use.. both act same way currently.. now i know what the problem is.. anyone know how to find older versions of the drivers?
